Proteas ODI captain Temba Bavuma is set to participate in the upcoming EUT20 Belgium league, signaling a new chapter in his cricket journey.
During the recent T20 World Cup, Bavuma showcased his analytical skills in the commentary box as his international T20 career seems to have concluded.
The EUT20 Belgium league, scheduled from 6 to 14 June in Brussels, aims to elevate cricket in mainland Europe and attract talent from various nations, with the backing of a notable Indian group. Former England captain Eoin Morgan serves as the global brand ambassador for the initiative.
This venture sees Bavuma alongside former Proteas cricketer Rassie van der Dussen, who will represent JB Bruges in the tournament.
With matches set to be hosted at the 12 Stars Cricket Club near Brussels, the league envisions a boost in professionalism for the sport in Belgium, with ex-Proteas player Herschelle Gibbs appointed as the coach for the Liège Red Lions team.
