Orlando Pirates winger Oswin Appollis displayed his club form on the international stage, providing a hat-trick of assists in South Africa's 5-0 victory over Eritrea.
This remarkable feat mirrors his previous accomplishment in 2024 when he also recorded three assists in a single game against Congo.
Despite some criticism, 31-year-old Bathusi Aubaas was part of the Bafana lineup against Eritrea but unfortunately had to be substituted early due to injury.
Under new head coach Pitso Mosimane, South Africa has started the AFCON qualifying campaign impressively with two wins, gearing up for a friendly clash with Egypt.
Looking ahead, Orlando Pirates, led by Appollis, will face Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 final, setting the stage for an exciting showdown.
