The Stinger Golf Club, now known as Southern Guards GC, has unveiled its new identity just before the upcoming LIV Golf tournament in South Africa. The rebrand emphasizes cultural values and national pride.

Southern Guards GC, formerly Stinger GC, has officially disclosed their rebranding decision as they gear up for the inaugural LIV Golf event in Africa. The team is set to showcase a fresh identity rooted in South African heritage and unity.

Inspired by the ethos of Ubuntu, 'I am because we are,' Southern Guards GC aims to embody collective strength and shared purpose. Their visual identity integrates the symbol of a rhino, synonymous with resilience and national pride.

Set to take place at Steyn City in Johannesburg from 19 to 22 March 2026, the LIV Golf South Africa event is attracting widespread attention, with over 70,000 tickets already sold. The rebrand marks a poignant moment for the team's representation on the global stage, echoing their commitment to their homeland.

General Manager Richard Glover expressed the emotional and strategic significance behind the rebrand, emphasizing the team's responsibility in projecting South Africa's legacy. Despite the name change, the roster remains unchanged, with established players like Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel leading the all-South African team into what promises to be a memorable golf season.
