Tiger Woods reaches a plea deal in a driving under the influence case resulting in a five-year driver's license suspension. The golf legend avoids jail time but has strict conditions attached to the agreement.

Tiger Woods had his driver's license suspended for five years as part of a plea deal in Martin County, Florida this week. The agreement allowed Woods to sidestep jail time in connection to a previous driving under the influence (DUI) incident from March 2026.

Appearing in front of the Martin County Courthouse, Woods changed his plea to no contest for a reduced charge of reckless driving, his second offense of this kind. The 50-year-old golfer also faced a charge of refusal to undergo a lawful test.

Prosecutors dropped the DUI charge as part of the deal, with Woods being found guilty of reckless driving and ordered to pay fines totaling ,500. Additionally, two concurrent five-year license suspensions were imposed for reckless and careless driving violations.

Judge Darren Steele sternly warned Woods that any driving would lead to immediate imprisonment for the safety of the public, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy. Woods has the option to appeal the ruling within 30 days.
