Golf legend Tiger Woods has his driver's license suspended for five years following a plea deal in a reckless driving case in Martin County, Florida.

Tiger Woods had his driver's license suspended for five years as a result of a plea deal he made with prosecutors in Martin County, Florida. This agreement allowed Woods to avoid jail time in connection with a driving under the influence (DUI) case dating back to March 2026.

In the courtroom appearance, Woods changed his plea to no contest on a reduced charge of reckless driving, which marks his second offense. Initially facing charges of DUI with property damage, Woods pleaded guilty to the reckless driving charge and was also ordered to pay fines amounting to ,000 for reckless driving and 0 for refusal to submit to a lawful test. Additionally, he was found guilty of careless driving, a separate moving violation.

The plea deal led to the dismissal of the more serious DUI charge, but Woods received two concurrent five-year license suspensions - one linked to reckless driving and the other to the careless driving citation. Judge Darren Steele issued a strict warning to Woods that driving would result in immediate re-arrest, emphasizing the importance of public safety. Woods has a 30-day window to appeal the ruling.
