Legendary mare Winx's first foal, sold for a record sum of R115 million, has been retired without running a race.
The decision to retire the filly, named Quinceanera, was made following veterinary advice and consultation with trainer Chris Waller.
Despite high hopes for her racing career, the foal will now focus on breeding as a broodmare.
Winx, known for her astonishing unbeaten streak and multiple Group 1 victories, has had setbacks with her foals, including the retirement of her first foal and a paddock accident affecting another.
