South Africa's junior talent Connor Doig had his Wimbledon journey cut short as he narrowly missed out on a quarter-final spot after a thrilling three-set match.
Facing off against his friend and doubles partner Dimitar Kisimov, Doig started strong but was ultimately edged out 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (10/5) in a closely fought battle.
Despite the loss, Doig maintained a positive outlook on his performance and expressed gratitude towards his support system, hinting at future tournaments and a new chapter at Baylor University in the United States.
With the absence of Lloyd Harris due to injury, Doig emerges as a promising prospect for South African tennis, drawing inspiration from the country's rich history at Wimbledon and aiming to make his mark on the international stage.
