Ashwell Prince, South Africa’s batting coach, and Kyle Verreynne, wicketkeeper-batter, were reprimanded for showing dissatisfaction with an umpire's call in the third Test against Australia in Cape Town.
Following the dismissal of Marques Ackerman, who was unable to review his out decision as it fell outside the 15-second rule, Prince argued with the officials, while Verreynne advised Ackerman to pause before leaving the field.
Both individuals accepted their penalties without the need for a formal hearing. The charges, led by match officials, resulted in each receiving one demerit point and a caution. This marks their first offense within the last 24 months.
The potential consequences of accumulating multiple demerit points include more severe penalties, but in this case, the actions did not lead to significant further disciplinary measures.
The match concluded with South Africa clinching the series with a significant victory over Australia.
