Temba Bavuma has advanced to second in the ICC Test batting rankings, while Marco Jansen now leads both the bowling and all-rounder lists.
Their impressive performances have been pivotal ahead of South Africa's crucial third Test against Australia, where they hope to make an impact.
According to the latest ICC rankings shared on October 28, Jansen's exceptional showing in Gqeberha propelled him to the top, surpassing Australia's Mitchell Starc.
In the Test batting rankings, Bavuma made significant strides following his outstanding innings at St George’s Park, closing in on England’s Harry Brook.
Jansen also dominates the Test all-rounder rankings, taking the top spot from India's Ravindra Jadeja.
As Australia stands at 330/4 after day 2, South Africa aims to counter with Jansen leading the charge, supported by Rabada, Mulder, Harmer, and Coetzee.
An exceptional showing is essential for the Proteas, not just from Jansen, but across the batting and bowling line-ups, as the World Test Championship series remains tied 1-1.
